Responsibilities of the Wipfli Accounting Interns
Interns will be expected to perform various accounting-related tasks based on their training and experience, including:
Respond promptly, accurately, courteously, and professionally to requests from clients and business associates.
Address client inquiries and collaborate with them to gather necessary data for completing relevant paperwork.
Utilize your data analysis skills to identify pertinent information and trends that will strengthen your recommendations.
Initiate proactive process improvements to enhance productivity.
Tax Specific:
Under the guidance of engagement leaders, prepare individual, business, and fiduciary tax returns and projections adhering to firm and professional standards.

Effectively utilize current accounting and tax software programs.
Review financial reports and other tax-related documents.
Conduct limited interviews for tax returns as required.
Audit Specific:
Under the direction of engagement leaders, perform audit, review, and compliance testing procedures in accordance with firm and professional standards.
Keep engagement leaders informed about outstanding items, testing issues, and other critical matters promptly.
Prepare (or review) financial statements, management reports, and other deliverables for clients.
Develop expertise in GAAP technical aspects, especially as they relate to the specified product line.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should aim to earn a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, including completion of coursework in individual or corporate taxes.
Demonstrated above-average competency in accounting, evidenced by a minimum 3.2 college GPA.

Working toward eligibility to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation (150 credits).
Preference given to those with coursework in data analytics or big data.
Capability to think independently and make informed decisions based on education and experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary for effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
Ability to prioritize tasks, follow through on requests, take initiative, and meet deadlines.
