INTRODUCTION TO IGNITE FOOD SYSTEMS REVOLUTION
Impact Hub Kigali, in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP), is extending its support to the third edition of the IGNITE Food Systems Challenge: Empowering Refugee Communities in Rwanda. CRITERIA TO APPLY FOR THE IGNITE FOOD SYSTEMS REVOLUTION:
The program is seeking dynamic and impactful businesses, including startups, micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), and cooperatives, operating in Rwanda. We invite applicants with commercially viable solutions aimed at improving the lives of refugees. Eligible businesses must be registered in Rwanda and actively involved in operations either owned by refugees or significantly benefiting refugees.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Non-refugee-owned businesses must meet the following criteria to qualify:
– Directly impact refugees in Rwanda or aim to improve their livelihoods.
– Be registered as a business in Rwanda with a minimum of two years of operations.
– Provide an RDB/RCA certificate.
– Have a team of at least two full-time members dedicated to the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) or cooperative, including the founding team.
– Ensure that at least 50% of the founding or senior management team is Rwandan.
– Demonstrate revenues of at least RWF 5,000,000 for the entire year of 2023.
– Have primary operations established in Rwanda.
For refugee-owned businesses, the requirements are as follows:
– The refugee owner must be registered in Rwanda.
– Be registered as a business in Rwanda with a minimum of one year of operations.
– Provide an RDB/RCA certificate.
– Have a team of at least two full-time members dedicated to the MSME or cooperative, including the founding team.

– Access to market and industry resources.
– Exposure to potential investors and funding opportunities.
