About the MOFA Taiwan Fellowship 2025
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Taiwan is now accepting applications for the MOFA Taiwan Fellowship 2025.
This fully funded fellowship is open to international professors, associate professors, assistant professors, post-doctoral researchers, doctoral candidates, and doctoral program students.

Designed to support research in Taiwanese universities or academic institutions, the fellowship focuses on Taiwan, cross-strait relations, the Asia-Pacific region, and Sinology (Chinese studies).
Since its inception, the fellowship has hosted over 1,400 researchers from 93 countries. Successful applicants will receive round-trip airfare, a generous monthly stipend, and comprehensive accident and medical insurance.

The fellowship lasts from 3 to 12 months, starting in January 2025.
Benefits of the MOFA Taiwan Fellowship 2025
— Economy class airfare to/from Taiwan (direct route)
— Monthly stipends:
— NT$60,000 for Professors, Associate Professors, Research Fellows, and Associate Research Fellows
— NT$50,000 for Assistant Professors, Assistant Research Fellows, and Doctoral Candidates
— Accident insurance (plus medical insurance for accidental injuries)
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold positions as Professors, Associate Professors, Research Fellows, Associate Research Fellows, Assistant Professors, Assistant Research Fellows, or be Doctoral Candidates.

— Research proposal (3 pages, standard research format)
— Resume (including a list of publications)
— Two letters of recommendation (or one recommendation letter and one letter of consent from the chief administrator of your institution)

Send the printed form and the required supporting documents to the nearest Taiwan Embassy, Consulate, or Representative Office via postal mail.
