About the AAUW International Fellowship for Women USA
The American Association of University Women (AAUW) offers a remarkable opportunity through its International Fellowship program.

The program is open to non-U.S. citizens or permanent residents committed to returning to their home countries for professional careers after their U.S. studies.
Additionally, a limited number of awards are available for study outside the U.S. (excluding the applicant’s home country) for members of Graduate Women International.
Both graduate and postgraduate studies at accredited U.S. institutions are eligible. Applicants should have a degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s by the deadline and must have applied to their proposed institutions.

Recipients are chosen based on academic achievements and dedication to advancing women and girls.
Upon completion, recipients are expected to return home and assume leadership roles in fields like business, government, academia, community activism, and the arts or sciences.
Eligibility Criteria
Previous winners of any AAUW national fellowship or grant are ineligible for international fellowships (excluding branch or local awards or Community Action Grants).
Applications are not open to AAUW board members, employees, or current interns.
Women, including those who identify as women, may apply in any field at recognized universities or for postdoctoral research.
Applicants must have citizenship outside the U.S. or a nonimmigrant U.S. visa, and confirm English proficiency.
Master’s and doctoral applicants must apply to accredited U.S. institutions by the deadline.
Selection Criteria
Applications undergo annual review by a panel based on set criteria.
Decisions are subject to final approval by AAUW and awarded competitively based on available funds.

Master’s/first professional degree: $20,000
Doctoral: $25,000
Postdoctoral: $50,000
