About the Access Bank Climate Leadership Fellowship 2024: Apply Now!
The Access Bank Climate Leadership Fellowship 2024 is currently accepting applications for its sixth cohort.
Climate change is significantly impacting Nigeria, resulting in challenges such as drought, desertification, flooding, and disrupted rainfall patterns.
These issues have adverse effects on health, well-being, and the environment, including declining agricultural yields in the north and severe flooding and waterborne diseases in the south.

In response, Climate Smart Nigeria, in collaboration with Glow Initiative for Economic Empowerment and with support from Access Bank PLC, is investing in a new generation of young energy leaders to drive energy transition and climate action nationwide.
The Access Bank Climate Leadership Fellowship (Cohort VI) aims to educate individuals passionate about climate leadership, renewable energy applications, climate advocacy, diplomacy, and finance.
The program covers topics including data-driven climate advocacy and awareness, the climate finance landscape, and the Green Climate Fund.
It also focuses on sectors such as clean cooking, clean energy, solar power, and waste-to-energy, providing fellows with the essential knowledge and skills to advance positive climate action.

Upon completing the fellowship, fellows will engage with schools or communities to impart climate education, nurturing young leaders for a resilient climate future.
Participants will receive a climate education toolkit and a certificate of climate leadership.
Program Overview:
— Intensive four-week training in climate leadership for selected fellows.
— Fellows completing training receive a climate education toolkit with instructions.
— Fellows will teach climate change in a chosen school using the toolkit over four weeks.
— Establishment of climate change leadership clubs in adopted schools by fellows.
— Encouragement for fellows to innovate with small climate change projects in their communities.
— Top five fellows awarded the Climate Champion Award.
Access Bank Climate Leadership Fellowship Eligibility:
— Open to individuals aged 22-40.
— Demonstrated leadership in climate action and renewable energy.
— Affiliated with an environmental or renewable energy organization, or a Corp member interested in renewable energy.

— University graduates.
— Willing to commit time to teach climate literacy in a school/community for one month.
— Passionate about clean energy solutions, sustainable agriculture, recycling, and eco-friendly practices.
— Dedicated to raising awareness about climate change.
— Residing in Nigeria, regardless of nationality.
Selected applicants must:
— Commit 5 hours per week to expert training, live calls, and fellowship activities.
— Adopt a school or community and conduct a three-week climate change teaching program.
— Demonstrate innovation during the Adopt a School/Community initiative.
