The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has issued updated regulations to assist Deposit Money Banks in their ongoing process of recapitalization. These guidelines, released in accordance with Section 8 (1) (e) of the Companies and Allied Matters Act No. 3 of 2020, emphasize the immediate compliance with the policy.
The regulations aim to facilitate the proper submission of applications for new incorporations, increases in share capital, mergers, and changes in license authorization. For new incorporations, applicants are required to submit essential documents including approved name reservation or availability, preliminary approval from the sector regulator, a completed online incorporation form, and payment of stamp duty and filing fees as per the type of license authorization.
