Introducing the 2024 NITDA Digital Nigeria Innovation Challenge
Applications are now open for the 2024 NITDA Digital Nigeria Innovation Challenge. This year’s competition seeks to leverage technology and innovation to tackle Nigeria’s pressing infrastructure issues.

The challenge invites participants to work in teams to develop comprehensive digital maps for a selected Nigerian state, showcasing essential infrastructure such as hospitals, schools, roads, and utilities.
These maps are intended to provide valuable insights that will support sustainable development across Nigeria.
Participants will collaborate in teams to:
- Identify critical infrastructure within their chosen state, focusing on key areas outlined by the challenge.
- Utilize mapping and visualization tools to create interactive and detailed digital maps.
- Present their findings in a compelling manner, illustrating the state’s infrastructure needs and opportunities.
- Submit their final project as a URL linking to their digital map, highlighting the identified infrastructure and associated insights.
Eligibility Criteria:
— Nigerian Citizenship: All participants must be Nigerian citizens and possess valid identification (National ID, Voter’s Card, International Passport, or Driver’s License).
— Age Requirement: Participants must be at least 18 years old at the time of registration to ensure legal eligibility and commitment.

— Team Composition: Teams should comprise 2 to 5 members, including a mix of technical and non-technical individuals to foster diverse problem-solving approaches. Entries from individuals will not be accepted; all participants must be part of a team.
Focus Areas for Mapping:
Each team should select at least one of the following key areas for their mapping project:
— Healthcare: Hospitals, clinics, and health centers.
— Education: Schools, colleges, and universities.
— Transportation: Roads, bridges, and public transit systems.
— Utilities: Water supply, electricity, and waste management.
— Public Services: Police stations, fire stations, post offices, and government offices.
