Requirements for the Emory university Undergraduate Scholarship
The selection for merit-based scholarship programs is managed by the Office of Admission in collaboration with distinguished faculty.
Each year, approximately 8,000 to 10,000 students apply to be Scholars, and 175 to 200 are chosen as Scholar Finalists.
Finalists are required to attend an on-campus Scholars Finalists Visit in the spring, which is provided at no cost to the students.
This visit spans several days and includes activities and interviews aimed at helping finalists familiarize themselves with Emory University and the unique opportunities available to them.
Applicants not selected as finalists will still undergo a full review for admission under their chosen application plan and will automatically be considered for other smaller merit-based scholarships.

The Scholar selection process is entirely separate from the financial aid process. If a student qualifies for both merit scholarships and financial aid, merit scholarships are awarded first.
Students who apply for financial aid may also qualify for need-based grants and loans if there is additional financial need beyond the merit scholarship.
Selection Process
Finalists will be invited to participate in only one specific program: Emory Scholars, Oxford Scholars, or Goizueta Scholars.
