The Federal Scholarship Board, part of the education ministry, is inviting Nigerians to apply for this government-affiliated program.
The Commonwealth Scholarship, overseen by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) in the UK, focuses on international development goals.

Moreover, it is awarded to individuals who have the potential to make a positive impact in their home countries and globally.
Each year, the UK sponsors around 700 students to pursue postgraduate degrees as part of its Commonwealth commitment.
Eligible applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of a Commonwealth country, hold an undergraduate degree with at least a 2:1, and demonstrate financial need to study in the UK.

However, candidates can be nominated by their country’s agency or by non-governmental organisations.
For Nigerian applicants, the Federal Scholarship Board also requires a National Youth Service exemption or discharge certificate.
Also, applicants must secure at least two admissions from UK universities and print their application form before submission.

Furthermore, the scholarship covers airfare and full tuition fees, provided through an agreement between the CSC and the UK universities.
