The FAO Internship Program 2025 aims to attract talented young individuals who are motivated to share their fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and recent academic experiences in FAO’s areas of focus.
The program offers participants a chance to enhance their academic knowledge through practical work assignments related to FAO’s mission.

Eligibility Requirements for the FAO Internship Program 2025
— Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited educational institution at the time of application or a recent graduate.
— FAO only considers degrees from institutions recognized in the World Higher Education Database (WHED), which is maintained by the International Association of Universities (IAU) and UNESCO. The list can be accessed at www.whed.net.
— Candidates must specialize in a field relevant to FAO’s mission and work.
— A working knowledge of at least one FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish) is required; knowledge of a second FAO language is an asset.
— Candidates must be nationals of FAO member countries.
— Applicants should be between 21 and 30 years old.
— Candidates must demonstrate the ability to adapt to an international multicultural environment and possess good communication skills.
Intern Responsibilities
Through the FAO Internship Program 2025, interns will contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and FAO’s Strategic Framework in support of the 2030 Agenda.

This transformation aims to create more efficient, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable agri-food systems that promote better production, improved nutrition, a healthier environment, and a better quality of life for all, ensuring no one is left behind.
Reporting Lines: The intern will report to an assigned supervisor.
Technical Focus: The intern will be assigned to various fields of work based on their profile and the organization’s needs.
Tasks and Responsibilities: The intern will perform functions as outlined in the Terms of Reference (TOR) provided by the hiring office.
