Scholarship Details: The scholarship covers three years of part-time online study for specific Master’s programs or two years for Postgraduate Diploma programs. Online studies allow students to continue working while studying from their local context.
Requirements: To qualify for the Mastercard Foundation Online Scholarship, applicants must meet these conditions:
Meet the academic entry requirements for admission to the University of Edinburgh. Applicants generally need a UK Second Class (Upper) Bachelor’s (Hons) degree or its equivalent.

Graduated from undergraduate study by September 2024, with a degree certificate and final transcript ready for submission by December 8, 2024.
Applicants must also be residents or citizens of a Sub-Saharan African country or hold refugee status in the region.
Have faced significant barriers to education.
Be 35 or under by September 1, 2025.
Show a strong record of community leadership and service.
Demonstrate ambition or experience in addressing the climate crisis.
Must not have completed a previous postgraduate degree or be enrolled at another university while on the scholarship.
Additional Requirements:
-For the Master’s program, applicants should not have completed a postgraduate degree.
-For the Postgraduate Diploma, applicants may have either an undergraduate or Master’s degree, provided they graduate by December 7, 2024.
-Applications from women, refugees, displaced persons, and people with disabilities are strongly encouraged.
Scholarship Benefits: The scholarship covers:
-Full tuition fees.
-A stipend for high-speed internet and a laptop.
-Participation in the Scholars Program’s climate leadership activities, including workshops and coaching.
