The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Cambridge has opened applications for the 2025/2026 academic year. MasterCard Scholarship for African Countries is aimed at promoting the growth of African students.
Eligibility: Candidates must meet the following requirements to qualify for the scholarship:
– Be citizens of an African country.
– Reside in an African country, unless temporarily absent for study or work. Exceptions apply to those displaced or holding refugee status.
– Apply for a master’s course at the University of Cambridge that lasts up to one year.
– Fulfil the academic requirements of the course they are applying for.
Benefits: The program pays full tuition, provides a monthly maintenance allowance, and supplies a laptop. It also covers visa fees, the International Health Surcharge, and travel expenses.
To Apply: Students from African countries must first secure admission from the relevant department to be eligible for a scholarship. The process starts with applying for admission to the University of Cambridge through the course directory, to be completed by the funding deadline, either December 5th or January 5th, depending on the course.
However, applicants must meet the academic requirements for their chosen course. If these requirements are not met, they will not receive a waiver for the application fee.
As part of the process, applicants must also submit a supplementary statement demonstrating their commitment to climate change African countries.
Furthermore, the MasterCard program promotes diversity and encourages applications from women, refugees, internally displaced people, and people with disabilities.

Deadline: Submit your funding application by December 5, 2024, for courses with a December 5 deadline. For courses with a January 5 deadline, submit by January 5, 2025. Always check the specific funding deadline when applying.
