Introducing the Humboldt Research Fellowship 2024-2025
Applications are now open for the Humboldt Research Fellowship 2024-2025 in Germany.
This fully funded fellowship program supports research projects lasting from 6 to 24 months.
Sponsored by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, this prestigious initiative invites researchers worldwide to conduct their studies in Germany.

Approximately 700 fellowships are awarded annually, excluding German nationals.
This program offers extensive support, including a monthly stipend, mentorship, medical insurance, round-trip airfare, family allowances, and assistance with living expenses.
Fellows benefit from individualized support and access to a diverse scholarship portfolio.
Types of Fellowship
— Postdoctoral Researchers: Available for researchers who completed their doctorates within the last four years, allowing them to conduct research in Germany for 6 to 24 months.
— Experienced Researchers: For those at a later career stage, grants may be split into up to three stays over three years, ranging from six to eighteen months each.

— €2,670 for Postdoctoral Researchers
— €3,170 for Experienced Researchers
— Allowance for conferences, research trips, library stays, etc.

Allowance for Accompanying Children
A flat-rate allowance will be provided for accompanying children under the age of 18.
Eligibility Criteria
— The fellowship is open to all nationalities except German nationals.
— Applicants must hold a Ph.D., doctoral degree, or equivalent research experience.
— Demonstrated research excellence through publications in internationally recognized, peer-reviewed journals.
— A well-established research profile with significant academic and research achievements.

How to Apply
The Selection Committee reviews applications three times a year: in March, July, and November.
The application process typically takes between four and eight months to complete.
