The Pulitzer Center’s Our Work/Environment initiative has extensively documented the risks posed by rising temperatures to workers in sectors such as agriculture and manufacturing.
Over the past two years, journalists have conducted comprehensive research in countries including India, Nigeria, Ghana, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uruguay, Paraguay, and South Africa.
Their primary focus has been on analyzing how extreme heat and weather conditions impact vulnerable workers, especially women who often serve as household heads.
The grant encourages narratives that explore the intricate relationships between business, climate issues, and consumer choices.
