This program is specifically tailored for those who are working on critical health issues and aspire to become leaders in their fields.
By participating in this fellowship, researchers will gain access to top-tier research facilities and resources, which will significantly enhance their ability to conduct meaningful research.
What We Offer
Fellows will have the opportunity to undertake a research placement lasting between three and nine months at a leading research institution in the UK, Europe, or Africa.
This experience will allow them to work alongside some of the best minds in their field, benefiting from advanced research environments and techniques.
In addition to the placement, the fellowship provides support for accommodation, travel, and training costs, though it does not cover salary expenses for the fellow’s Employing Organization during the placement period. Funding of up to £47,000 is available to help cover these costs.
Eligibility Criteria
The fellowship is open to early-career researchers, including postdoctoral scientists and clinicians who hold advanced qualifications and are employed in Africa.
Applicants must be nationals of an African country. Detailed eligibility criteria can be found in the application information document.
Application Timelines
We plan to notify all applicants of their application status by April 2025. Successful candidates will be expected to start their fellowships between July 2025 and December 2025.
