Introducing the IDC Internship Program
Applications are now open for the 2025 Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) Internship Programme.
The IDC, or Industrial Development Corporation of South Africa Limited, is a self-financing, state-owned national development finance institution.

It plays a pivotal role in financing industrial development projects, fostering partnerships across industries both within South Africa and internationally, and driving regional economic growth.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the IDC Internship Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
— Citizenship: Applicants must be South African citizens.
— Age: Candidates must be under 35 years of age.
— Communication Skills: Strong English writing and verbal communication skills are required.
— Current Enrollment: Applicants must not be currently enrolled in any educational institution.
— Previous Programs: Candidates should not be registered in, or have participated in, any learnership or internship programs previously.
— Qualifications: All applicants must have completed a relevant qualification in one of the following fields:
— BCom Accounting/Financial Management (specializing in Management Accounting or Financial Accounting), BTech Cost & Management Accounting
— Honours in Information Science with a specialization in Knowledge Management
— BCom (Law) or LLB
— Honours in Mathematical Finance/Financial Engineering/Quantitative Risk/Finance/Financial Modelling/Actuarial Science/Financial Econometrics/Mathematical Economics
— Diploma in Travel Tourism/Business Travel
— BEng. Industrial Engineering or BSc Environmental Science
— CTA and Honours in Finance or Accounting
— BCom/BA in Human Resource Management, Diploma in Human Resources Management/Development
— BA/BCom in Psychology or Master’s in Psychology (completed or in progress)
— Diploma/Degree in Information Management or Archival Studies
— Degree/Diploma in Logistics Management/Purchasing
— BSc IT/B.IT
— BA/Advanced Diploma in Media Studies/Journalism/Communication/Brand Communication
— BCom in Marketing Management/Public Relations/Project Management
IDC Internship Programme
The IDC Internship Programme offers a structured and supervised 18-month workplace exposure opportunity.
This program is designed to provide interns with valuable work experience, helping them explore potential career paths, build professional networks, and receive mentorship from seasoned professionals.

Interns will engage in a fixed-term contract and participate in a comprehensive training program tailored to their field of study.
This program aims to enhance their professional skills and understanding of their respective industries while earning a stipend.
Technical Competency
Candidates should possess:
— In-depth knowledge of their specific field of study.
— A solid understanding of the Industrial Development Corporation and its role.
— Proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and MS Teams.
— The ability to communicate effectively at a high level.
