About the International Monetary Fund Internship
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Internship Program recruits approximately 50 students from around the world each year to join us at IMF headquarters in Washington, D.C.

These paid internships run between June and October, lasting from 10 to 12 weeks.
Eligibility Requirements
For the Economic Internship, applicants should have a strong academic focus on monetary and international economics, public finance, financial markets, or a related field.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, along with excellent written and oral English proficiency, are essential.

— For PhD Students: You must be an active student, meaning you will return to your university studies after the internship, and you must be under 32 years old at the start of the internship.
— For Master’s Degree Students: You should be actively enrolled in your program at the time of application (not yet graduated) and under 28 years old when the internship begins.
For the Legal Department Internship, applicants should be within one to two years of completing an advanced law degree (LL.M., J.D., or equivalent). You must be under 32 years old when the internship starts.
