The Malaysia International Scholarships (MIS) is an initiative by the Malaysian Government aimed at attracting outstanding individuals from around the world to pursue postgraduate studies in Malaysia.
This scholarship aligns with Malaysia’s goal of becoming a global center of academic excellence by attracting, motivating, and retaining talented individuals from abroad.
International graduates with outstanding academic and extracurricular backgrounds are welcome to apply for this scholarship to continue their studies at leading Malaysian universities and higher education institutions.

Requirements for International Scholarships
Graduates from the eligible countries for MIS 2024 who:
– Are citizens of eligible countries for MIS 2024*;
– Intend to pursue full-time postgraduate studies (Master’s/PhD) in Malaysia; or
– Are currently pursuing full-time postgraduate studies at Malaysian public universities or selected private higher education institutions with at least two semesters remaining before the end of their study period.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria for their applications to be considered:

– Be no older than 40 years for master’s applicants and no older than 45 years for PhD applicants at the time of application.
– Have strong academic qualifications:
– For master’s applicants: a CGPA of 3.00 / 2nd Class Upper (Honors) or higher at the bachelor’s degree level.
– For PhD applicants: a CGPA of 3.00 or excellent results at the master’s level in courses related to the intended study program.
Demonstrating good proficiency in English by:
– Obtaining an IELTS band score of 6.0 or higher; or
– Achieving a total score of 550 or higher on the TOEFL paper-based test (PBT); or
– Having completed previous degrees with English as the medium of instruction.
Submitting a written research proposal of at least 1,000 words that is relevant to the intended field of study (for Master’s by Research and PhD applicants only).

Benefits
Tuition fees for the entire sponsorship period will be paid directly to the university upon the issuance of an invoice to MOHE by the university.
A monthly living allowance of RM 1,500.00 will be paid to the scholars each semester upon submission of their progress report to MOHE.
