About the MINDS 2024 Scholarship
The MINDS 2024 Scholarship for Leadership Development in Africa, launched in 2017, aims to cultivate young leaders with a continent-wide development perspective and enhance cooperation among African countries.
This scholarship allows African students to study in a country other than their own, immersing them in the diverse cultures and communities of the host nation.

It provides opportunities for Africans pursuing postgraduate studies within the continent.
Through specialized leadership development activities, the MINDS Scholarship Program seeks to nurture leaders who will promote unity and collaboration across African nations.
To be eligible for the MINDS 2024 Scholarship, applicants must have been accepted to study at one of the following institutions:
East Africa:
— African Leadership University, Rwanda
— Carnegie Mellon University in Rwanda, Rwanda
— Makerere University, Uganda
— Strathmore University, Kenya
Southern Africa:
— African Leadership University, Mauritius
— University of Cape Town, South Africa
— University of Mauritius, Mauritius
— University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa
North Africa:
— Al Akhawayn University, Morocco
— Université Cadi Ayyad, Morocco
— Université Mohammed V, Morocco
West Africa:
— Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology, Ghana
— Pan-Atlantic University (Lagos Business School), Nigeria
— University of Development Studies, Ghana
Eligibility Requirements for MINDS 2024 Scholarships
To be considered for a MINDS Scholarship, applicants must:
— Be a citizen of an African country and reside in any African country.
— Have been formally accepted by one or more MINDS-preferred institutions outside of their country of citizenship or residency.

— Have been accepted by one or more MINDS-preferred institutions to pursue postgraduate studies within the upcoming year.
— Have achieved at least 70% in each subject/course during the last two completed years of study.
— Provide evidence of demonstrated leadership abilities or potential as specified in the application form.
— Submit a completed online application form with all required supporting documentation.
Benefits of MINDS 2024 Scholarship
The scholarship may cover some or all of the following expenses, depending on whether a partial or full scholarship is awarded:
— Tuition
— Accommodation and meals
— One return ticket for the duration of studies
— A fixed stipend
Required Documents
To apply for the MINDS 2024 Scholarship, you must submit the following documents on the application page. Each attachment should be in PDF format and not exceed 2MB in size:
— A copy of the data/bio page of your passport.
— A certified academic transcript or results slip from the last two years of study.
— A copy of the official acceptance letter from the university, which must:
— Be addressed to the applicant.
— Specify the degree program the applicant has been accepted into.
— Indicate the academic year the degree program will start.
— State the duration of the course (e.g., one year).
— A copy of a valid study permit or visa, or proof of application (optional).
— A detailed CV/Resume, not exceeding four single-sided pages.
— Two reference letters (no more than three pages each) that address the applicant’s integrity, competency or leadership potential, and commitment to African development.
