Introducing the MOPGA 2025 Scholarship: Funded Research
Applications are now open for the 2025 Make Our Planet Great Again (MOPGA) Scholarship Program. This is the eighth round of the MOPGA program, funded by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE) in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR) and administered by Campus France.

The program will support at least 60 young researchers who wish to conduct their research in France.
Requirements
— Only foreign researchers who obtained their PhD within the last 5 years are eligible to apply. Applicants must be of non-French nationality.
— At least 60 scholarships will be awarded to selected researchers for a 12-month period beginning in September 2025.
— Researchers must have defended their PhD thesis between December 2019 and December 2024.
— Applicants must be exclusively of foreign nationality.
— Candidates must not have resided in France for more than 90 days between September 5, 2024, and December 5, 2024.
Research Themes
Eligible research areas include:
— Earth system sciences
— Climate change and sustainability sciences
— Energy transition
— Societal challenges related to environmental issues
— Human, animal, and environmental health, as defined under the “One Health” approach
Benefits
The scholarship provides the following benefits:
— A monthly allowance of 2,500 euros
— An installation allowance of 500 euros

— Health insurance coverage, including health insurance, civil liability, and repatriation assistance until the researcher is affiliated with French social security
— Supplementary health insurance, including civil liability and repatriation assistance, once social security affiliation is effectives
Application Procedure
Documents Required:
— CV with a list of publications (maximum 4 pages)
— Doctoral degree (or diploma certificate)
— CV of the French research director for the research stay (maximum 2 pages)
— Letter of commitment from the French host laboratory to provide the means to carry out the research project
— Up to 3 letters of recommendation
— Copy of passport or national identity document

Timeline:
— September 5, 2024: Application period opens
— December 5, 2024: Application period closes
— May 2025: Notification of results
— Between September and December 2025: Arrival of the winners in France and start of their research stay at French institutions
