Introducing the MTCP 2024-2025 Scholarships by Malaysian Government
Applications are now open for the MTCP 2024–2025 scholarships. The Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) aims to attract talented candidates from developing nations to Malaysia, equipping them with skills to contribute to their home countries and Malaysia’s development.
Established in 1980, MTCP embodies Malaysia’s commitment to South-South Cooperation, sharing its development experiences and expertise. The program promotes collaboration among developing nations.

Administered by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education, these scholarships provide high-quality education and support for experiencing Malaysia.
Candidates with strong academic backgrounds and a dedication to making a positive impact in their communities are encouraged to apply.
The objectives of the MTCP scholarships include:
— Sharing experiences with developing countries
— Strengthening bilateral ties
— Promoting South-South Cooperation
— Encouraging technical cooperation within developing countries
Eligibility criteria:
— Applicants must be under 45 years old at the time of application.
— Master’s degree candidates must have a minimum undergraduate CGPA of 3.5 or equivalent.
— Proof of English language proficiency (e.g., IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 60) is required.

— Health certification is mandatory, with costs covered by the applicant.
— Candidates must enroll full-time in postgraduate courses leading to a master’s degree at a Malaysian university.
Only applicants registered for one semester or with a valid admission offer from a Malaysian university are eligible to apply.
Selection Criteria
Outstanding graduates with great potential who:
are nationals of the nations that receive the MTCP; and
intend to pursue a Master’s degree full-time in Malaysia.

The following selection criteria will apply to the consideration of applications:
— Outstanding performance in both academics and extracurriculars.
— Outstanding proficiency in written, spoken, and written English.
Benefits of the MTCP Scholarships
The Malaysian government sponsors the MTCP Scholarship, which aims to provide postgraduate education to international students from developing nations while also equipping them with skills and knowledge that could aid in their home countries’ development.
This scholarship covered:

e. A certified copy of the academic transcript;
i. Record of all the courses taken throughout the degree programme must be reflected in the academic transcripts;
ii. Applicants must submit transcripts of their undergraduate studies; and
iii. Applicants must submit an official document issued by the applicant’s alma mater describing the university’s grade system
