Established in 2010, the MTN Foundation Scholarships Program annually acknowledges and rewards eligible high-achieving students in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions across three categories, including the MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (MTN STS).
Since 2010, the MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (MTN STS) has been available to eligible third-year students pursuing Science and Technology-related courses at Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions, including universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. Three hundred students are granted scholarships until graduation, provided they meet grade criteria.

Beginning in 2024, the yearly award amount has risen from N200,000 to N300,000.
Since 2012, the MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (MTN SBS) has been aimed at eligible second and third-year blind students enrolled in any course at Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions, including universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. Beginning in 2024, the number of blind students receiving scholarships has risen from 60 to 100.
Additionally, the yearly award amount has increased from N200,000 to N300,000, and scholarships will be granted until graduation if grade criteria are fulfilled.
The Top 10 UTME Scholarship, established since 2020, grants scholarships to the top 10 scoring candidates of UTME as declared by JAMB.
Recipients qualify automatically and receive scholarships from their first year through graduation, provided they meet grade criteria. Beginning in 2024, the yearly award amount has risen from N200,000 to N300,000.
This scholarship is granted regardless of the chosen course of study or the type of tertiary institution—public or private—in Nigeria.

The MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS) and the MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) are available to Nigerian students enrolled in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions, including universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

Level of Study:
The application is open to second-year students who have finished their second-semester exams and are progressing to their third year, as well as third-year students, considering variations in academic calendars among public tertiary institutions.
The MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) is available to second and third-year blind students at Nigerian public tertiary institutions, except for law students, where only third-year students are eligible.

Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA):
MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS):
- STEM students in public universities and colleges of education must maintain a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (second class upper credit).
- STEM students in public polytechnics must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) program.
- Direct entry level STEM students must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) program and must have secured admission into the third year (300 level) in a public university.
MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS):
Blind students enrolled in universities or colleges of education must maintain a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5.
Blind students attending public polytechnics must maintain a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program.
