About the P4G Call for Early-Stage Climate
P4G is now inviting applications for partnerships focused on climate mitigation or adaptation solutions in the areas of food, energy, and water. P4G Call for Partnership in Climate Solutions
We are seeking collaborations that include at least one early-stage business and one nonprofit organization, operating within one of P4G’s ODA-eligible partner countries: Colombia, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Kenya, South Africa, and Vietnam. P4G Call for Partnership in Climate Solutions

The solutions must aim to alleviate poverty, promote gender equity, and drive economic growth in key sub-sectors such as climate-smart agriculture, food loss and waste, water resilience, zero-emission mobility, and renewable energy.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following ten eligibility criteria:
- Partnership Composition: Each partnership must include at least one early-stage climate business and one nonprofit organization.
- Experience and Expertise: The partners must demonstrate significant experience and expertise across various domains, including country-specific knowledge, sectoral and regulatory environments, business management, and grant management.
- Sector Focus and Geographic Scope: The partnership must operate within one of P4G’s eligible countries and focus on one of the designated sub-sectors: climate-smart agriculture, food loss and waste, water resilience, zero-emission mobility, or renewable energy.
- Investment Stage: The early-stage business should be at the seed or post-seed financing stage, with a solid business plan and a clear path to commercialization or capital raising.
- Regulatory Understanding: The partnership must have a thorough understanding of the policy, legal, and regulatory frameworks in the implementation country.
- Innovation: The climate solution proposed should be innovative and significantly advanced compared to the current state-of-the-art in the industry and the relevant country.
- Impact: The solution should demonstrate potential impacts in climate change mitigation, economic growth, poverty reduction, and gender equity.
- Budget: A cost share of at least 30% of the project budget is required, and this must be in the form of cash rather than in-kind contributions. The budget should cover mandatory activities and specific budget line items.
- Responsible Business Conduct: The partnership must not engage in activities listed in P4G’s exclusion list and must either have an existing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) plan or propose to develop one.
- Due Diligence: Both lead institutions must demonstrate their capability to fulfill organizational due diligence requirements.
Benefits
Selected partnerships will receive grants averaging USD 350,000 to support their initiatives over a period of 18 to 24 months.

This funding aims to help implement impactful climate solutions that align with P4G’s goals of enhancing sustainability and promoting economic development.
