Research Fellow in Cyber Policy & Security Overview
Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, is excited to announce an opening for a Research Fellow in Cyber Policy & Security to join its esteemed research team in London.
This position offers a unique chance for a skilled researcher to contribute to a pioneering research program focused on the security risks associated with emerging technologies.
The International Security Programme (ISP) at Chatham House is known for its cutting-edge research on global security and defense issues.

Within this program, the Cyber Policy Portfolio (CPP) is dedicated to exploring the intersection of cybersecurity and technology.
Current projects within the CPP examine critical areas such as the geopolitics of cyberspace, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and China’s influence in the digital realm.
The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing the CPP’s objectives by leading complex research projects, offering valuable thought leadership, contributing to the Journal of Cyber Policy, and engaging in fundraising efforts. Collaboration with a dynamic team of researchers will be essential.
Key Responsibilities
— Develop and apply innovative research methodologies to achieve significant impact.
— Produce high-quality, policy-relevant research for publication by Chatham House.
— Identify and explore new research questions to contribute to public and policy discussions.
— Manage the peer review process for articles submitted to the Journal of Cyber Policy.
— Design and lead research projects that align with the strategic goals of the program and institute.
— Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including individuals, businesses, and institutions globally.
Candidate Profile
Experience:
— Demonstrable expertise in cyber policy, technology policy, or related fields at the intersection of security, geopolitics, and technology.
— Proven experience in writing policy briefs and recommendations for diverse audiences.

— A successful track record in leading ambitious research projects.
— Experience in fundraising and engaging with donors.
