Introducing the UICC Fellowships 2024 for Cancer Professionals
Applications are now open for the 2024 Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) Fellowships.
UICC’s Technical Fellowships offer cancer professionals the opportunity to acquire new knowledge, skills, and techniques in cancer control through short learning visits ranging from two weeks to two months.

Launched in 1976 as the International Cancer Research Technology Transfer awards (ICRETT), these fellowships have facilitated knowledge exchange for over four decades.
Objectives
— Facilitate the international exchange and development of technical knowledge and skills in cancer control.
— Build capacity within the individual and their home organization through the effective application and dissemination of newly acquired skills.

— Support the development of networks among cancer control professionals for the ongoing sharing of best practices, knowledge, and informal support.
Eligibility Requirements
— Eligible Professionals: Public health professionals (including epidemiologists, health educators, social workers, nutritionists, administrators), cancer researchers (translational, clinical, and/or implementation research), clinicians, nurses, and pathologists.
— Educational Requirements: Applicants must hold a minimum of a Master’s degree. Qualified medical doctors may be considered with an MD and board certification (or within one year of obtaining it) in a cancer-related specialty. Registered nurses with an RN qualification are also eligible.
— Equivalent Qualifications: A one-year training qualification in a cancer-related specialty, such as training as a cancer registrar, can be accepted as equivalent to a Master’s degree.

All candidates must have a minimum of five years of experience in the field of cancer before applying.
Duration and Funding Levels for Technical Fellowships
— Two weeks: $2,200*
— Three weeks: $2,800*
— Four weeks: $3,400*
— Five weeks: $4,000*
— Six weeks: $4,600*
— Seven weeks: $5,200*
— Eight weeks: $5,800
UICC will determine the award amount based on the requested duration of the fellowship visit, average living costs in the host country, and estimated economy class travel expenses from the home country to the host country.
