About the UNFPA Scholarship for Master’s in Coffee Economics and Science
The United Nations Population Fund in Cameroon, in collaboration with the Ernesto Illy Foundation in Italy, aims to enhance investment in Cameroon’s youth development and innovation capital while addressing gender disparities.
They are inviting applications for a scholarship to support one female Cameroonian graduate in attending the 14th edition of the International First Level Master Program in Coffee Economics and Science Ernesto Illy.

This program, a collaboration between the University of Udine and the University of Trieste, offers 60 CFU credits for the academic year 2024-2025.
The Ernesto Illy Foundation provides annual financial aid to deserving graduates from coffee-producing countries, covering tuition and most logistical costs.
Cameroon ranks seventh globally in coffee production, renowned for both Robusta and Arabica varieties.
Requirements for the UNFPA Scholarship for Master’s in Coffee Economics and Science :
The scholarship is open to Cameroonian women graduates interested in the coffee industry and agri-food sector.

Participants will receive multidisciplinary training across the production chain, from cultivation to sales in hospitality and retail, logistics, trade, and industrial processes.
This master’s program consists of 400 hours of lessons, divided into 9 educational modules:
5 focused on coffee economics and 4 on coffee sciences. The majority of the classes will be conducted online, offering participants 60 university credits.
The curriculum, delivered entirely in English, is open to graduates in Economics, Engineering, Sciences, Agriculture, and related fields.
Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must meet the following criteria to be eligible for this scholarship:
— Be female
— Could be a Cameroonian national or a refugee residing in Cameroon for the past 3 years
— Be younger than 24 years old
— Hold at least a bachelor’s degree in economics, engineering, science, agriculture, or a related discipline
— Not have previously received this scholarship
— Be enrolled in a Cameroonian university in a program closely related to the program
Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship covers:
— 100% of the university tuition fee (valued at 15,000 Euros) for the International First Level Master in Coffee Economics and Science “Ernesto Illy”
— All necessary teaching materials (textbooks, handouts, lecture notes) for the residential period of the Master program in Trieste, Italy (4/5 weeks)
— All meals during class days of the Master program in Italy
— Accommodation during the residential period in Italy
— Round-trip airfare from the country of origin to Trieste, Italy
— Subscription for the public transport network in Trieste, Italy (bus) during the residential period

— Transfer service to and from Venice or Trieste Airport
The scholarship does not cover passport and visa fees, unspecified administrative costs, the cost of a laptop and internet access for online lessons, or personal expenses while staying in Italy.
