The two-year vocational training program is designed to provide candidates with a comprehensive experience by rotating them through three different teams or practice areas.
This rotational approach allows candidates to engage with a variety of legal matters and collaborate with multiple partners and teams within the firm.
We believe that this broad exposure early in one’s career is essential for developing critical skills and building lasting professional relationships—both vital components for a successful and fulfilling career in law.
During their time in the program, candidate attorneys will work on some of the most transformative legal matters in Africa, gaining hands-on experience that is both challenging and rewarding.
They will be guided by experienced mentors and will have the opportunity to contribute to significant cases that shape the legal landscape on the continent.

Requirements
To be eligible for the Webber Wentzel Candidate Attorney Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
— Be a South African citizen or permanent resident.
— Have studied or be currently studying at a South African institution or possess a SAQA equivalent qualification.
— Expect to complete an LLB degree by either January 1, 2026, or January 1, 2027.

— Most recent academic transcripts, including those for the current year of study.
— Academic transcripts for any undergraduate qualifications or other relevant qualifications.
— Matric certificate.
