About the Yenching Academy 2025 Scholarship
The Yenching Academy Scholarship in China invites graduates from around the world to pursue their master’s degree on a fully-funded basis.
This Peking University scholarship allows students from all over the globe to study in China for free. Notably, 80% of Yenching Academy students are international.

Yenching Academy offers six research areas to choose from: economics and management, history and archaeology, philosophy and religion, politics and international relations, law and society, and literature and culture.
Students with strong academic and extracurricular records are encouraged to apply for this scholarship.
Each year, Yenching Academy admits around 120 new students, both from China and internationally, to study, live, and learn together, with international students making up about 80% of the cohort.
The fully-funded master’s scholarship program at Yenching Academy provides fellows with a thesis advisor, enhancing their expertise in studies related to China.

Yenching Academy Scholarship Requirements
To be considered, applicants must:
— Have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in any field, or be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program and on track to graduate by August 31, 2025.
— Demonstrate an outstanding academic record.
— Show a strong interest in interdisciplinary studies of China.

— Meet English proficiency requirements.
Peking University does not permit students to enroll in other degree programs while studying at the university.
Benefits and Duration
The Yenching Academy China Scholarship lasts for 2 years.
The fellowship covers the full tuition fee and provides the following benefits:
— Accommodation at Yenching Academy in a two-bed suite with a shared bathroom (shared by two people of the same gender).
— Medical insurance.
— A monthly stipend.
— One round-trip travel allowance.
Note: These benefits apply for the first year. To continue receiving them, fellows must maintain good academic standing.
